Pho You: Pho Vinh

Pho Ga, $7.50 (large)

So this retched flu is still going around; perhaps the biggest downfall working in a high school where deep cleaning is few and far in-between. So for all my friends suffering from the sniffles, your best cure is a big bowl of Pho.

My recent favorite pho joint is Pho Vinh, on 73rd and Fremont. This was highly recommended by my Vietnamese friend, who says this is the only place his family will eat pho when they aren’t making it themselves! Pho Vinh, like so many other pho restaurants, is family owned and is run by the sweetest couple and grandma that helps too. They are more than accommodating and happy to make your pho experience enjoyable. They serve their pho with incredibly lean meats (none of that fatty chicken in here) and flavor it perfectly without too much nutmeg, which can sometimes be overbearing and over sweeten pho.

Pho Vinh is clean, traditional and yum. A couple of spoonfuls of chili sauce, a handful of jalapeños and you will on your way to recovery. One more thing I love about pho . . . its soo cheap. For .50 cents more get the large and I promise you will have lunch for tomorrow.
